Homeschool back in the groove!

One thing I have learned from homeschooling is that it is hard. It is hard to wake those beautiful sleeping faces...when there are a million reasons not to. It is hard to write your lesson plan on New Years day because you procrastinated and um...school starts back-up tomorrow. It is hard to be the one rowing the ship every step of the way, because if you don't who will?

These are the moments that don't always make the Pinterest board. Girl (11) had an online class the morning of the 31st, boy had an orthodontist appointment the morning of the 2nd, and school had to take place on bot of those days because we are driving out to Colorado next week and I know we will need a few days off.

Homeschooling during the holidays requires a lot of scheduling, prioritizing, and flexibility. But this is why we do it. This is why we homeschool, because we like to be one prioritizing if it makes sense to have a spelling test or go snowboard with the neighbor kids - the weather has been terrible and it will be 50 degrees tomorrow. We like the flexibility to take a class online where ever the internet may reach. I still haven't found a reason why I like scheduling other than our lives are A LOT smoother when I do.
